Start Your Day Early
We’ll pick you up from your hotel in Cusco around 4:00 AM to begin an unforgettable journey to the majestic Andes. Although it may change the Pick-up time depending on type of tour. Settle in for a scenic 3.5-hour drive to the trailhead at Soraypampa, passing through the charming town of Mollepata, where you’ll enjoy a hearty breakfast (or a nutritious box breakfast upon request).
The Hike Begins
After fueling up, your 1.5-hour hike begins. Follow a steadily ascending trail surrounded by breathtaking Andean landscapes until you reach the highlight of the day — the stunning Humantay Lake. With its shimmering turquoise waters backed by glacial peaks, this is one of Peru’s true hidden gems. Also, mind-blowing mountain ranges on the way to Humantay Lake.
Relax & Recharge
Take your time to soak in the views, snap incredible photos, or simply enjoy the tranquility of this magical place. Then, retrace your steps down the same trail and return to Soraypampa.
Lunch & Return
Enjoy a delicious lunch in Soraypampa or Mollepata, with your final glimpse of the towering Salkantay Peak. After lunch, relax in our private Inca Vision van as we return you to your hotel in Cusco, arriving around 5:30 PM.

To book the Humantay Lake Full-Day Trek in Peru an initial payment of $ 20 USD per person is required. The remaining balance can be paid online or in person at our office in Cusco. The deposit can be made via We Travel, Western Union or MoneyGram. If you rent camping and hiking gear, upgrade tours or receive a discount of the total price our sales team will email you the updated remaining balance payable at our Cusco office.

Additional Options
Horses
At the start of the hike, you’ll have the option to hire a horse and horseman if you prefer not to walk the full distance. Payment is made directly to the horseman at the end of the service. So you will need to pay 70 Peruvian soles.
Trekking Poles
If you’d like to rent trekking poles for the duration of the hike, the cost is $5 USD per person.

What You Need To Bring for Hiking Humantay Blue Lake in Peru
- Passport or identity document.
- Small backpack.
- Camel Back or water. bottle, (snacks and energy drinks).
- Hat or cap for the sun and sunglasses.
- Sunscreen, lipstick and toilet paper.
- Trekking sneakers.
- Light and warm clothes, gloves, scarf and jacket.
- Waterproof jacket/rain poncho if your visit is between the months of October to March.
