Discover Peru through the eyes of the Incas by hiking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu, one of Cusco’s most scenic natural wonders. Follow the path of Inca pilgrims along the historic Inca Trail, used for centuries to reach the sacred city. On this Classic 4-Day Inca Trail tour, you’ll explore impressive Inca ruins—temples, terraces, portals, and resting sites—nestled above the cloud forest in the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu.
This world-famous trek, recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, offers a deep connection to nature and the rich culture of the Incas. The Inca Trail from Cusco to Machu Picchu includes challenging sections like Dead Woman’s Pass (4,200 masl), making it a moderate to difficult adventure due to steep stone steps.

Daily Itinerary
Day 1: Cuzco – Ollanta-km 82-Tarayoc/Hatunchaca- Wayllabamba/Ayapata
Early morning pick up from your hotel or accommodation in Cuzco between 4:15 to 4:45 AM. Then we will transfer you to Ollantaytambo where you will have breakfast here. After a hearty breakfast, you will continue for 1 hour more drive to the trail head in km 82 (Piscacucho village). Here (Inca trail checkpoint for visitors) you will show your passport to park rangers in order to start our hike. The first two hours of hike is easy and along the way you will spot some Incan sites such as: Ccanabamba (an Inca resting place), Patallacta (a multifunctional Inca town). You will also see our variety of flora, fauna and local houses such as our native trees, hummingbirds, butterfly, etc). From these Incan sites to the lunch spot it will take around 2 hours. After lunch it will take another 2 hours more of hiking to the campsite (Wayllabamba/Ayapata) where you will enjoy your happy hour time with hot tea and dinner prepared by our Inca Chef and then it will be time to rest.
Hiking Distance: 12km/14 Km -7/8 miles (6 to 7 hours)
Campsites Altitude: Night 1: 3,000/3300 m (9842/10829 ft)
Day 2: Wayllabamba/Ayapata-Llulluchapampa-Dead Woman Pass-Pacaymayo-Runcuracay Pass- Chaquiccocha
After an early breakfast, you will get ready to test your physical condition, because today is your big day and the day you have to tackle Dead Woman Pass located at a dizzying height of 4,215 m. Take heart, it will take just 4 hours or so to get to the highest pass, then take your time to appreciate the majesty of the snowing mountains, some views of the Andes, and others mountain chains around . After a well-deserved break, we will descend the mountain and Inca stairs slowly until we reach Pacaymayu where you will have lunch nearby. Then you will hike up to the Runcuracay Pass, but before to get there you will explore a small Inca ruin that is at the midpoint of the trail. Then you will head down for 2.5 hours more to hit to the next Inca ruin Sayaccmarca and finally to the campsite Chaquicocha. Note: if you start your day 2 from Wayllabamaba then you will spend the night just in Pacaymayo campsite and it is less challenging day.
Hiking Distance: 11 km/16 km-7/10 miles (7-9 hours)
Campsites Altitude: Night 2: 3,580 /3,600 m (11700/11800 ft)
Day 3: Pacaymayo/ Chaquiccocha-Phuyupatamarca-Wiñaywayna
Today will be the most amazing day because you will be into cloud forest surrounded by lush vegetation and intact Inca trail .After a big breakfast, you will start hiking along the undulated waved trail roughly for 2 hours or so until to reach to the 3rd pass (Puyupatamarca). Here you will see the pick of the Machu Picchu Mountain for first time and also you will explore the Phuyupatamarca Inca ruin. Following, you will just keep going downhill stairs for around 3.5 hours until you hit to the Wiñayhuayna camp where here you will have lunch ( at 1:30 PM) and spend the night., after your yummy lunch you will have plenty of time to take your siesta and take Inca shower. Right after your siesta, you will explore the mini Machu Picchu (Wiñaywayna) for 1 hour or so then during this afternoon it will be the time to have our last dinner and time to say good bye our porters and chef. If you feel that they have done a great job then you can leave tips for them, like Inca tradition, it will be a nice ceremony to introduce the team to you to shake your hand between you all. After this, time to go to bed because next day you will have to get up very early. Note: if you start your day 3 from Pacaymayo then you will have lunch in Chaquicocha/Phuyupatamarca and spend the night in Wiñayhuayna campsite as well and it will be challenging day, because the walking distance is 16 km.
Hiking Distance: 10 km/16 km-6.2/10 miles (5-9 hours)
Campsites Altitude: Night 3: 2,680 m-8792 ft.
