Daily Itinerary – Machu Picchu 2-Day Tour
Day 1: Cusco – Sacred Valley – Train to Aguas Calientes
Your 2-day Machu Picchu adventure begins with a pickup from your hotel in Cusco at 7:00 AM (train schedule from Cusco); 8:00 AM (train schedule from Poroy or Ollantaytambo) or 12:55 PM (train schedule from Ollantaytambo) We’ll travel through the stunning Sacred Valley of the Incas to the village of Ollantaytambo, where you’ll board one of the world’s most scenic trains to Aguas Calientes, the gateway to Machu Picchu.
As you follow the winding Urubamba River, enjoy breathtaking Andean landscapes and lush valleys. You’ll arrive in Aguas Calientes by 2:30 PM, check in to your comfortable 3-star hotel, and enjoy a free afternoon to unwind or explore.
Optional Activities:
- Visit the Machu Picchu Museum, orchid gardens, and butterfly sanctuary (40-minute walk).
- Relax in the natural hot springs, just a 5-minute walk from the town center.
Optional Train Upgrade:
Prefer a shorter drive and longer scenic ride? Opt for a train from Poroy Station near Cusco (30-minute drive). Enjoy a 4-hour journey straight to Aguas Calientes, with the same return option the next day.
Important Note:
- Must request this option when booking so we can reserve your correct train ticket.
- The train service from Poroy Station to Aguas Calientes operates only during the dry season, from June to August. Outside of this period, departures are from Ollantaytambo Station due to seasonal weather conditions and track maintenance.
Day 2: Sunrise at Machu Picchu – Guided Tour – Return to Cusco
Early wake-up call! We’ll take the first bus (30 minutes) up to Machu Picchu to witness sunrise from the famous Guard House viewpoint—an unforgettable postcard-perfect moment.

Price for Machu Picchu 2-Day Tour
To book Machu Picchu Tour 2 Days an initial payment of $ 200 USD per person is required. The remaining balance can be paid online or in person at our office in Cusco. The deposit can be made via We Travel, Western Union or MoneyGram. If you rent camping and hiking gear, upgrade tours or receive a discount of the total price our sales team will email you the updated remaining balance payable at our Cusco office.

- The price for group and private tour is per person. Also, it requires a minimum of 2 people to run Group Tour to Machu Picchu

Student Discount:
To qualify for the student discount, one must be 25 years old or less at the time of entering Machu Picchu and you must submit a valid university ID with your booking. The ID must include your name, photo, and expiration date. Cards without an expiration date will not be accepted. Please bring the original student ID with you on the tour to pass the checkpoint.
